Amazing, i always tell my students that when they are figuring the costs involved with buying and selling a property, they have to figure on 2 sets of closing costs, realtor costs and repair costs. The extra thing you don’t expect is the selling broker sneaking in a request to have you as seller pay a bunch of the buyer’s closing costs,
I have just redone my house and have it up for sale. Don’t you know- this exact thing happened. I got a full price offer but hidden in the small print is the request to pay 10k of closing costs for the buyer. That’s like dropping my price by nthat much. Have to really think about that. Of course i am going to talk to the lender and question him about the buyer’s financial qualification.s Just doing a pre- qual is a joke. I need to know that they went through the whole process and got an approval pending the acceptance of the house itself. Then i will make my decision.
