Rehab
update
106 degrees yesterday in Covina but I had to go out to see what’s doing with the rehab. Fence looks great. At least now there is some privacy. The fence guy did a great job.
My student partner is learning how important that it is to be sesame street with your agreement with the contractor. Leave nothing to their imagination. For example: we agreed that he would charge $200 to redo the kitchen cabinets. BUT I DID NOT SAY- UPPER AND LOWER CABINETS. So he wants more money. Usually when we agree on painting it includes patching and painting. I forgot to put the word patch and now he wants more.
He is a good worker, however. He always shows up and works hard. It’s just so much baby sitting. I think I will move on the next time. I don’t have the time or patience for this.
Spent the day at home depot selecting plants for the front yard. We seeded the lawn and hope it sets before the water police show up.
Need to find a local place for granite. Don’t know anyone so far away. Does anyone else?
Because I have not been there in awhile, the place is a mess. I hate that. I expect the workers to clean up after themselves. We are now getting close to showing the place so I read him the riot act. I am going to put up a FOR Sale by Owner sign and people will walk in so the place has to be clean. It would be great to find a buyer and work on the loan while we are finishing up.
Need to get finished by Nov 1. The market drops dead after Thanksgiving.
